“Celebrate good times, come on

Celebrate good times,

There’s a party goin’ on right now

Celebrate!”

Countdown

It’s time for a countdown as the year 2020 ends, and while the calendar year is ending, our vigilance is not.

We must continue to social distance, wear face masks, and limit person-to-person contact as much as possible. In the U.S., the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines supplement local health and safety regulations in your region. As you plan to turn the night on the town into a night on the couch, consider the following:

  • Community COVID-19 levels
  • Travel
  • Location with outdoors highly recommended
  • Duration
  • Social distancing
  • Behaviors of attendees prior to and during the event
  • Single-use plates and utensils

Resolution time

Host a resolutions party where online each participant states a resolution with a due date. You have lots of time to break the resolutions later, but for now, the act of recording them will bring you joy. Bring out the board games and play via Zoom or another platform.

Virtual parties

A virtual connection allows you to be close at a distance.  Bring out your festive holiday attire, wear your 2021 glittery crown, and host a video call with loved ones. Remember, the smaller the gathering, the lower the risk. Then, decorate your space, set your table, use all of your rooms, whether there are two or ten. Host dinner in front of the fireplace or in a dining room. No dining table- no problem. Use a blanket or throw on the card table or floor, and go to town with a first-class New Year’s Eve dinner. Add a floral arrangement, a cocktail, and a dessert, and you are good to go!
